One Of The Chosen – Beta Achievement

by Jon on May 9, 2012

If you were hoping that your characters and achievements would be retained after the beta, you’re out of luck but you will gain a feat of strength to your account in addition to a unique sigil..

In celebration of a successful beta test, all players who were invited to participate in the Diablo III closed beta will receive the commemorative Feat of Strength, “One of the Chosen.” For eligible players, this feat will appear automatically in the Feat of Strength list after logging in for the first time as well as unlock a unique sigil that can be used on character banners.

In order to be eligible for “One of the Chosen,” you must have had a Diablo III closed beta license attached to your Battle.net account (it isn’t necessary to have downloaded or logged into the beta itself). Please note that players who participated only in the Open Beta Weekend, but were not invited to the closed beta, will not receive this Feat of Strength.

Thank you once again to all of our beta participants. We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary!

Those unlucky not to participate in the beta will not be able to gain this feat of strength creating a bunch of haves and have nots. Fair or unfair? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

I live on the east coast and have never been to a Blizzcon, should hate the lucky ones that went and received goodies? Same principle here guys.

Wow nicely done, thats really unfair. Not only did those lucky ones get to play beta but they also get a feat of strength and a bonus sigil.

You didn’t miss much if you didn’t play.

I’m glad they did something small. It’s not like they gave you an in-game item that only one character on your account can wear.

Implementing potentially game breaking items and only giving it to a certain crowd, is a terrible implementation decision.

As for a small sigil that probably will be forgotten in a month, it’s a nice little homage.

Of course, I’m biased…

Technically it’s not an achievement. You don’t get any points (or lose points in this case) because you participated (or didn’t participate) in the beta. That’s why it’s a Feat of Stength and they are percieved as impressive and a status symbol – because not everyone can get them.
