If you’ve been a member of the Diablo community for any number of years, chances are you’re familiar with Kevin “Sixen” Carlino. Known for more than just the DiabloCast, he has spent considerable time working on various fansites across the web as well.

The news today is that EG (Evil Geniuses) have teamed up with Sixen to bring us as yet unknown Diablo content. EG appears to be keeping it under wraps for now but we’ll see more of their plans in the coming weeks and months. Needless to say, it’s bound to be good!

Robert “KingOctavious” Ring had a chance to sit down with Sixen for a quick chat in which they went over his gaming history, what he’ll be bringing to the myeg.net site, what he thinks of the Diablo 3 beta and where the game is headed post release.

Some interesting points from the interview:

  • The storyline and lore behind the Diablo franchise is considered “one of the richest” Sixen has ever been involved in.
  • That PvP is going to be more streamlined due to the addition of the Arena in Diablo 3 which may lead to it becoming an e-sport depending on how the community “expresses themselves to Blizzard post-release.”
  • That the Diablo community is diverse and ranges from the casual player to the hardcore, the min maxers who aim to create the best Diablo 3 builds, farm the best items to those who simply just enjoy the storyline and environment.
  • In regards to the release date – Blizzard “really can’t push it off any more” although they are known to only ship titles when they are up to standard.

Given Team EG and Sixen have such a rich history, we’re bound to see some great things come from this collaboration. Head on over to the EG website to continue reading this interview with Sixen.
