Slap me hard if this isn't true for you. haha

Heya everyone! My name is Veronica, but please call me Kai. :) I'm a 19 yo Marine Biology and Environmental Earth Science student in Sydney. We all have been waiting for too long for Diablo III to come out. Torchlight, Bioshock and Borderlands have been my favorite past times while waiting for the glorious launch.

Whenever I meet new gamers, most of them guys, they awe at the fact that I'm a girl and I play games that they usually think would be incomprehensible for girls. They would automatically hit on me and stuff but too bad, mates, all of them weren't my type. On some other cases, they get intimidated coz I'd usually beat them and they're too proud to accept that a girl just crushed them in pieces. HAHA.

Y'all are game enthusiasts, tell me watchu think about this. :p Oh, and what have you been playing to suffice that frustration of waiting for Diablo III?

    Cheers everyone!

Welcome to the forums kaifoundnemo. I can't say I really care if girls like to game, it's nothing really new these days. There are a few girls who have joined the forum so that's proof of that!

Also, I've removed your sig as it's too large. Feel free to have either text links or a small image but not both otherwise the forum will be more about sigs than content and that's not what we're aiming for here! Nothing personal :)

No worries mate. "Few" is still not a lot though. HAHA! Regardless, it sure is nice to hear that more girls have been getting into gaming now, ain't it? :)

Hellooooo awesome fellow gamer Kai!! My name's Rob aaand I just turned 24. It's cool that you're proud to be a Diablo gamer :) for some reason I don't really run into too many these days.. and borderlands is amazing! Such a good game.. How do you feel about Dead Island? Or Skyrim? I've been playing those two (with periodical Call of Duty or Diablo 2 breaks) to hold me over. Also, haha how is Australia? I mean how does the attitude out there compare to here, if you've been here.. or if there's any general difference in people you meet online or elsewhere that aren't from australia.. either way, I'm intrigued.

Oh hey there, Rob! It's really nice to meet you. Hmmm I've only met one Aussie gamer so far and he retired from gaming already. Most of the gamers I meet are Asians actually. Most of them are into Star Craft2, Dota and LOL. I don't meet a lot of gamers in Australia tbh but i know a way lot back in my home country. Australians are more of the outdoors kind i reckon.

Hmmm I've seen the game plays for Skyrim and Dead island for i have not the greens to buy me new games yet. Still saving my money for Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2. These are hard days mate. Haha. Anyway the graphics are sensational for both of em. Dead Island looks very much like Left4Dead and a bit of Bioshock only bloodier with a spiced up setting, ie zombies sun bathing. Haha. But hey, just think of how much improvement game developers and designers have had all throughout those gaming years aye! From those 8-bit arcade games to full on 3D graphics of today! So to all of you wonderful and creative minds out there, thank you so much for making our gaming life a blast.

Cheers to you Rob, and everyone. :)

I'm blinded by the light when I go outdoors :p I'm from Melbourne BTW but moving near Sydney this week actually! Plenty of Aussie gamers around but it's probably not as widespread as some countries like Korea; it'd be so awesome if we had GSL level competitions here. The competitions we do have don't get much publicity either.

Blinded by the light outdoors. HAHA wow, you're that Aussie minority then? We all know how Aussies love the outdoors right? HAHA. No offence, sire.

And how awesome is that, hey? You're from Australia, too!!! And yes, hear hear to GSLs! Where and why are you moving? If you don't mind me asking. :)

Welcome to the boards :) There's really a lot of women gamers, so it isn't that much of a surprise anymore. It's just that a lot of guys aren't really paying attention, but when I hop on multiplayer COD games almost half the players are chicks. I have been called a gay guy plenty of times because of my 'girly voice' and some guys just can't comprehend that girls play games. (Especially when I go 50+ kills without dying. >:D) It really isn't a big deal anymore since now almost everyone is playing some sort of game with the advance in technology and gaming on cell phones. I'm glad to see more closet gamer chicks come out. And I'm so jealous! I'd love to go to Australia. :p Anywho, Dead Island is very different than L4D and same goes for Dead Rising games. I love all three but they each are very different than the others... but I'm biased because I'm a horror/zombie fanatic.

Bioshock is a fantastic game... now, here's the question, did you save or harvest the little sisters?

AHAHA! OMG. speaking of guys with girly voices, I call my friend Girlyman! He's my record producer but he sings with me sometimes, too. But yeah he sounds so much like a girl. Well of course every game is different from others, i'm just saying that it looks like L4D due to the involvement of zombies and it being an FPS. Yknow, simple comparisons like that. :)

    Little sisters = save :)

From EQ,to EQ2 to WoW, from WC3 to Dota, and yes even D1 and D2 and all over Call of Duty series. I think i can count on more then a hundered peoples fingers and toes on how many females I have met on games. My person opinion on it is that women should play games. They need to understand where and why us guys do it. I am excited to know another woman plays Diablo just the fact they dont cringe to the idea of a demon coming after you while you hack at its head. Understanding the moral of a game and not just the content of it. That is what makes a good gamer, male or female. Hell, Ill make you a t shirt that says (Pro Gamer Club) just because Everyone deserves one that enjoys games for the purpose and morale of the game not just everyone else is doing it!

You play League of Legends by chance? Mebe we can pass some time while we wait for D3. I do hope that the multiplayer in D3 allows for friends to play together without too much trouble. I've heard they are going to do away with LAN altogether and focus on Battle.Net multiplayer only.

Hey there Kai! I'm Dylan. I am 18 years old (turn 19 in a month) and am a Mathematics Major (soon to be History double major) and Adolescent/Young Adult Education Minor in Ohio. I definitely think a girl who enjoys gaming is attractive, although I don't consider it a rarity. By the way, I LOVE Bioshock and Borderlands.
