Haven't been able to play the beta, so I don't know, but is it true that followers only join you when you play alone? If you're in a party, they don't assist?
You are right Kookie, followers leave when other people join the game unless they are required for the story line.
Hmm, makes me wonder then how integral they would be then. In D2 your merc's equipment would help in your total MF for instance.
Hah that is awesome, I use to hate going through my merc in D2 just to find the right one on Nightmare Lut Gholein merc with freeze aura. Man it made it hard to control those guys they would go EVERYWHERE but where you wanted. Now you can control the skill along with other things.. that is cool I look forward to this. Thanks for the update on this Jon.
I know followers aren't going to add much for those of us who plan to play multi most of the time but given a few people asked for such a section, it can't hurt to add it. I did enjoy decking out my merc though so I'll probably still deck out a follower for those times when no friends are online.
Slightly random question re the followers - If you give them dyed equipment (like a bright pink sheild) will we see it on the followers ?
Short answer is no. Shields and weapons can't be dyed therefore would not show up on a follower. The only items that can be dyed are: body armor pants shoulders gloves boots helms Followers don't have any armor slots so they can't equip these items.
Thanks Toddus! Makes perfect sense, I hadn't looked at what the dyes worked on and not because I thought they were a bit of fluff really.
