Hey so this is a build I've based around two main rune effects that give an explosion when you kill a monster type effect. It's all just theory crafting right now. Especially because there is a combo i think could work really well if I'm interpreting it right and not just the way i wanted to. Here's the link. Its base skill is Cleave with an Alabaster rune for Rupture. This is the bread and butter fury generator with the on kill blood explosion effect. Next to enhance the effect of cleave i chose two "gathering" type abilities for cleave's slight AoE effect and Ruptures greater AoE effect. Ground Stomp with an Indigo rune for Wrenching Smash which brings enemies in before it strikes. Thus gathering for the Rupture/Cleave effect. I chose to go with two gathering abilities but ground stomp might just be enough. The second gathering ability is Ancient Spear with an Indigo rune for Grappling Hooks. Again just like Ground Stomp it's used to gather your targets. For a survivability skill I went with Overpower with a Obsidian rune for Revel. This combos well with the gathering abilities because i'll have more targets to gain health from. I added Battle Rage with a Crimson rune for Marauder's Rage. For a 40% damage boost. Finally the active abilities are finished off with Wrath of the Berserker with an Alabaster rune for Slaughter. This gives an on kill blood explosion effect just like cleave. I'm not sure if they stack but if they do that means on every kill i have a 70% to do roughly 100% weapon damage to all targets with 13 yards. When WotB is active. For my passives I have Brawler because obviously I'm going to be aiming to fight larger groups so the added damage is perfect. Next is Nerves of Steel because of the added survivability and I would build more life than armor because of Overpower's Revel effect of 8% of max life per target (This is all speculative I don't really know what i should build for utility and survivability yet). The last part of the build is Berserker Rage. Not only do i only have 2 rage spenders but they're going to be on cooldown a lot. So to finish off the build and keep my Barbarian strong it fits to have the added 20% damage when i have max fury. So in essence the build gives from +20-90% damage A good amount of crowd control (not true crowd control but it will keep guys off non-melee party members) Some good AoE damage (Not the best or ideal for big groups) and some survivability Probably not one of the more min/max'ish type builds I've made but it looks fun. Definitely one that i would like to play and refine and it's really unknown to me how it is going to play out. Whether i need to add more damage or more utility I'm just going to have to play it to see.
its interesting and well thought out... I haven't looked at the barb much (I was always a zealer fan rather than a frenzy or ww fan on d2) but I like the way put this together, i think that as long as you keep the wrath of the berserker on, your ground stomp, spear, and cleave, will easily regenerate the fury by the time its worn off to use it again as well as Battle Rage have fun with it!
