Bashiok gave a rather lengthy response to another forum user who expressed concerns about Monk animations. This has been a hot topic since the Monk was first playable.

The first major complaint I have noticed is that the Monk does not use equipped Daibos and instead still uses fist attacks - some argued the lack of animations for Daibos and the default to fists was lazy on Blizzard's part.

The second major complaint I have noticed is that when a non class specific weapon is equipped (axe, sword, etc) it disappears in lieu of fists once again when attacking.

Bashiok responded with summaries of a new "full animation suites" for skills including:
    • Dashing Strike
    • Crippling Wave
    • Deadly Reach

Additionally animations will be added by patch shortly after release for these attacks so the fist weapons will not be hidden:
    • Exploding Palm
    • Way of the Hundred Fists
    • Fists of Thunder
By doing this Blizzard is aiming to address one of the biggest feedback topics they have received and letting the audience know that feedback has been heard.
